With an hourglass figure like that, I think it’s a she! Yes I like the changes and already sent the check. The G and D string are sounding much better, although I had a scare. I put on a new set of Prelude strings and was getting a bad buzzing on F# on the D string. Tried a different D string, then an ebony tailpiece – still there. It turned out that Preludes have the little bit of tubing for the bridge on every string, not just the high strings, and I had not noticed that the tube for the G string. It got wound onto the peg – when I found it and got rid of it, the buzz
went away.
The glue job on the top looks beautiful! And the (normal) sound post is a big upgrade. Glad to have it back
quickly and in plenty of time for St Patrick’s Day (I play in a Celtic band). I’ll leave happy feedback
on Ebay and of course, if I’m ever dumb enough to buy another bad sounding Chinese violin,
I’ll send it to you right away. Those Birds Eye backs are so pretty...
Anyway, thank you for the surgery and the excellent communication throughout the process.
When I need repairs beyond my modest ability, I’ll be sure to get in touch with you.
